  • werk it out: tabata training

as much as I can wax poetic over nail art and wine, fitness and nutrition are what really get me going. it’s what I study, it’s what I do, it’s what I love.

I werk it out every morning and almost always indoors (I live in the great white north, i.e. Canada). because this can get repetitive, I try to keep my muscles guessing. this usually involves intervals.

throw your muscles a little surprise party today with tabata training:

    • 20 seconds HARDCORE/XTREME/BALLS TO THE WALL
    • 10 seconds of rest
    • repeat eight times

yep, it’s a four minute workout. I spend more time in a day flossing my teeth (…i’m oddly obsessed but that’s a separate issue).

tabata can be applied to any activity, but I’m a runner, so I usually run a couple of miles as a warmup, then sprint at 10mph and jump off the treadmill for the 10 seconds of rest.

    happy interval-ing!
